After School Clubs

After School Clubs are starting on February 8.

They will run until March 21. They are held on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 pm. The cost is R$75 per student. **Bible study club does not cost anything** Clubs are open to BIS students, as well as children who do not study at BIS.

The clubs we are currently offering are:

Archery club (5^th – 12^th Grade)

Slack Line club (3^rd – 12^th grade)

International Fair and Homework club (3^rd -12^th grade)

Snacks and Crafts club (Jr-K3 – 2^nd grade)

Reading club (Jr-K3 – 2^nd grade)

Soccer club. (Jr-K4 – 2^nd grade)

Bible Study (7^th – 12^th Grade) **

Office Closed for the Holidays

The school office will be closed from December 24- January 8. The school office will be open again on January 9.

Math Fair Postponed

Last year we introduced Math Fair to BIS and this year it was scheduled for late October. However due to the busyness of this school year and the upcoming dual accreditation visit, we have decided to postpone Math Fair until the next school year. Also, the timing of the fair will be reevaluated as October and November are already very busy months with our Children’s Day and Brazil Day Celebrations. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Our desire is to prepare each student to positively impact the world. Thank you for partnering with us to accomplish this goal!

Romario Visits BIS

The cafeteria at BIS was bubbling with excitement as soccer hero and political deputy Romario walked the campus. School director, Mr. Lancaster, introduced Romario to the junior and senior high students during their lunch period. The students eargerly lined up to shake his hand, and have their shirts, papers, and even their arms signed by the soccer legend.

Romario, now a deputy in the Chamber of Deputies (Câmara dos Deputados) for the federal government of Brazil, has a long history of being known as one of the best soccer players of all time. Romario led the Brazil soccer team to victory in the 1994 World Cup. He won the the FIFA World Player of the Year award as well as the World Cup Golden Ball in 1994.

Romario has played for many, including the national team for Brazil, Flamengo, Vasco da Gama, as well as internationally in Barcelona and Miami.

Romario’s acclaimed 1000 goals is second only to Pelé and is an inspriation for our students. Our students enjoyed meeting Romario, and we were honored to have him visit the BIS campus!
